Folio 104: `S.A.' [Sicilian Abbots] to R. Walpole. Their efforts to prevent Patiño succeeding in ruining British trade [with Spain]; they will try to influence the new King if Philip V abdicates; Spanish dislike of French avarice and presumption; Spinola and Macanaz inclined to support France which is trying to incite Spain against Britain and Austria; they ask for instructions and money to pay expenses; and for a list of papers illustrating diplomatic events affecting Spain since 1728 and justifying British policies.
