Folio 105: Pelham to Delafaye. Opinion amongst French Ministers and envoys of Northern powers that France should be included in the alliances recently concluded, otherwise she will probably obstruct the peace settlements and seek to counterbalance those alliances with alliances of her own. Close understanding between France, the King of Poland,and Bavaria. France will also seek alliances with Denmark, Sweden and Spain. If existing treaties with France are felt to be insufficient, France should be invited to join the latest treaty arrangements, while Fleury is in control of French policy.
