Considers it unlikely that Spain, or Elisabeth Farnese will abandon her alliance with Austria for the Hanover Alliance; secret correspondence between Spain and France; Rottembourg's behaviour; Spain unlikely to risk war; adherence to the Hanover Alliance is the best guarantee to France that her interests will be upheld particularly as regards the `effects' on board the Spanish galleons; objections to Spanish fortifications at Gibraltar.
