Folio 128: Poyntz to Delafaye. Chauvelin explains that the French government preferred to hold the Congress at Soissons rather than at Paris to avoid exposing delegates to the importunities of the pro-Spanish faction; Santa Cruz accused Fleury of being excessively Anglo-phile, but is himself firmly opposed to Austria; Spanish Dukes protected the Prince of Asturias from the ministrations of medical practitioners during his illness and he has now recovered.
