Folio 108: Sutton to Carteret. Dispute occasioned by Venice's attempt to revoke the privilege by which British, French and Imperial vessels were exempted from Customs inspection; France would take counter measures if Britain placed in quarantine all French vessels because of the plague, as Britain did against Geneva and Savoy; French cordon sanitaire; French commerce with Channel Islands prohibited. Dubois' apparently increasing importance as Regent disburdens himself of responsibilities.
