Folio 280: Pulteney to Craggs. Titular monetary value of crowns and other coins raised, later to be lowered, bank bills of lower denominations have returned to par, and the Bank is collecting all it can; bills of higher denomination continue at a discount, being exchangeable through the Bank's agents; Regent explains to bankers his plans for redeeming the bank bills issued. Effect on Anglo-French exchange rate; inflation; the Crown's debts are diminished by this [devaluation of paper money vis-à-vis gold and sterling].
