Folio 257: Pulteney to Craggs. Messrs. Paris, former paymasters and tax farmers for the government, are banished from the city of Paris being suspected of fomenting opposition to Law's system; large French holding in the South Sea Company liable to be withdrawn; [Paris] Parlement petitions Regent to allow supplies of coin, Regent's reply. Savage penalties for those who exchange bills for coin; decree ordering that all jewellery must be sent abroad and sold within the month.
