Folio 420: Prior to Bolingbroke. After Jan. 15, the fifty sols per ton duty imposed on English goods, shall cease. Asks if English duty on French goods may be removed. Persuaded Desmaretz to send French Commissaries to London to discuss the ninth article in the Treaty of Commerce. Settled several maritime cases successfully. Asks that the merchants concerned advance the case of John Jenkinson. French instructed Villars to close a peace with Prince Eugène quickly and settle disputes later. Emperor demands Porto Longone and restoration of [fueros] for the Catalans. Dukes of Savoy and Parma hope for Queen Anne's intercession in French court so that their interests may be protected. Visited Elector of Bavaria in Paris and tried to reconcile him to proposed terms of peace.
