Folio 97: Pontchartrain to Dartmouth. Complaints from Les Sables d'Olonne about captains of English privateers who deceived the French by writing ransom agreements partly in English. The French find they signed a pledge to pay the ransom in English money which they are unable to do and the hostages therefore remain in England.
Date and place: 1712 July 23, Fontainebleau.
