Folio 76: Pontchartrain to Dartmouth. Offers prisoner Comte de Piosasque in exchange for Middletons. Preparations made to pay off Irish prisoners debts at Canterbury. Still requires justice for the St. Jean Baptiste, of Bayonne and the Phoenix of Honfleur. If complaints made by owners of the Good Adventure are verified the French will make amends. Thanks Dartmouth for release of French fishing boat La Chaloupe arrested by the Swift. Complains of boats from Jersey and Guernsey taking contraband and passengers to the Iles Chausey and France. Certain men responsible already arrested. Commissaire at St. Malo is preparing a list of French fishing boats for which compensation is sought according to fishing pact. Asks that the daughter of M. Duchail de Genays be allowed to rejoin her parents; at present she is detained in Britain so that she may be brought up as a Protestant.
