Folio 49: Laws to Addison. Extracts from letters dated July 14 and 22. Antibes besieged by the Duke of Savoy and large force; rest of his army on the march towards Toulon; large force at Toulon to defend province against the enemy. Naples surrendered to the Imperial detachment on July 7 without any opposition; deputation welcomed Imperial army into the town; crowds throw Philip V's statue into the sea and threaten French residents; Spaniards retreat to Gaeta.
