Description

Folio 124: De Bacquoy to [Williamson]. D'Estrades privately expressed to a group of States General members his anxiety that the Provinces and even towns show so much dissension and disunity, and his surprise that Charles II did not press Louis XIV for the restitution of Orange to the prince. Attitudes of English Parliament over the militia question. Believes De Witt has intelligence gatherers in England, even in the King's household. Strength of Spanish army. Turks prepare for war. Captain Sweer's visit to Algiers; Corsairs agree to prolong truce.
