Folio 124: History of Anglo-Dutch relations with respect to fishery rights: agreement with Philip of Austria in 1495; Dutch independence from Spain in 1581; recognition by Spain in 1609 and 1648; Dutch pretensions to fishery rights during the reign of Elizabeth I; Dutch challenge to English rights in 1614; treaty of 1608; 1618-36 as in ff.114-119 above; growth of Dutch fisheries; steps taken in 1651/2 to re-establish the agreement of 1495; Dutch mission to England in 1662 unsuccessful; Franco-Dutch agreements; salutations between English and Dutch ships at sea has been the cause of previous disputes; Dutch accused of according greater recognition to other monarchs than to the King of England.
