Abstract of text Cal Close Rolls 1500-1509, nos 392-394 illuminated initial similar to no 1. Bookmark wanting. Cover: chemise binding, the primary cover of damask, with outer chemise of burgundy velvet, edged with gold and crimson thread; three of four corner tassels of crimson silk and gold thread survive. Oak boards, indented. Fastening: braided straps of crimson silk and gold thread, attached with silver gilt strap plates. Clasps of silver gilt in form of angel and rose. Bosses face and dorse: corner bosses of silver gilt, enamelled white and green, with gilt portcullis; centre boss of silver gilt, enamelled, with royal arms and supporters of dragon and greyhound, finely wrought in champ-levee. Seals: five cords of red and gold to which are attached (pendant) seals of abbot and convent of Westminster; contained in silver skippets enamelled with arms of Westminster and of abbot.
