This series contains selected files dealing with prices and incomes policy, including subjects such as the Joint Statement of Intent on Productivity, Prices and Incomes; the prices and incomes freeze of 1966; and price increases and wage rises.

The series includes minutes of meetings (e.g. the Medium Term Assessment Committee; the Official Committee on Incomes and Prices; etc), correspondence, policy papers, etc, relating to prices and incomes policy and to productivity. These include the views and activities of interested organisations, including the Trades Union Congress (TUC) and Confederation of British Industry (CBI), and the referral of proposed price increases to the National Board for Prices and Incomes (NBPI).

The original numerical sequence of the creating body has been followed.

The files are arranged in the series as follows:

• 1964 files: pieces 1-3 and 78-107;
• 1965 files: pieces 4-10 and 108-458;
• 1966 files: pieces 11-31;
• 1967 files: pieces 32-62;
• 1968 files: pieces 63-77.
