The series contains minutes of meetings and other papers of the Reviewing Committee, Advisory Council and other special committees, including copies of the Reviewing Committee's annual reports to Parliament (formerly part of T 218). Two specimen case files, EP 1/53 and 54, pertaining to particular objects, have been preserved since the minutes, papers and annual reports contain a good deal of information on individual cases. The pre 1965 papers are former registered files of HM Treasury
It also contains records of the Committee of Enquiry into the sale of works of art by public bodies. Files of the Reviewing Committee on Export of Works of Art were transferred to the Department of Education and Science and into this series in 1965 and 1982
