The Committee on the Need for a National Film School was set up in 1965 to consider the need for a National Film School. It met until 1967 and was formally replaced in 1969 by the National Film School Planning Committee which was concerned with developing the plans for its establishment. This committee continued to meet until 1970.
Both committees were chaired by Lord Lloyd of Hampstead and appear to have been known jointly as the National Film School Committees.
