Folios 36-41: Lord Cowley: Respecting reprimand to papal nuncio. Empress displeased about lack of decision for her church scheme. Roman question: Abbé Dupanloup's pamphlet is "exceedingly clever"; empress's church and Italian policy will be approved by the Chambers; the pope will not support the empress's scheme. As to warship "Cochon" building at Bordeaux for Confederates and sold to Prussia.
