Further arguments that the Spaniards are determined to attack Brazil and probably Portugal itself, while ostensibly negotiating with Britain and France as the mediating powers. Urgent need for English naval and military support for Portugal, to disabuse Grimaldi, `who looks upon himself as exceeding powerful, and upon us, as forsaken.'.
Date and place: 1776 Sept 4 Lisbon.
