Folio 298: Marquis of Pombal to L. Pinto de Sousa. Grimaldi is clearly intent on a war, and therefore Pinto should hasten the return of General Simon Fraser to Portugal, and enlist other senior British officers on half-pay for service in the Portuguese army, where they will receive double the pay of Portuguese officers of the same rank, as they did in the war of 1762.
