Folio 399: Earl of Hillsborough to R. Walpole. Encloses copy (f.400) of a letter from Captain Dashwood of the Falmouth packet-boat, complaining of his unwarrantable imprisonment for a night at Lisbon and that Walpole had refused to help him or to protest. Hillsborough presumes that Dashwood's complaint is unjustified; but if he finds it is true, he should take the matter up with Ayres de Sá, and ask for satisfaction.
Date and place: 1780 Dec 9 London.
