Folio 251: R. Walpole to Martinho de Mello e Castro. Sends him the papers relative to the Portuguese sailors from the Artois and Pearl with copies of the R.N. captains' replies, all in French translation. These two captains have authorized him to declare on their behalf and on their words of honour, that they have no Portuguese subjects in their respective ships.
Date and place: 1780 Sept 11 Lisbon.
