Folio 52: L. Pinto de Sousa to Earl of Hillsborough. Complains he has not yet received an answer to his memo. of the 17 Dec. last. Renews his Court's demand for commercial reciprocity. Points out that whereas there are two large and opulent British Factories in Portugal, there are not more than eight Portuguese merchants in England; so even complete reciprocity will still be in England's favour by 100 to 1, relatively speaking.
