Folio 329: Sir John Hort to Sir Stanier Porten. Complains of the difficulty in giving advice `concerning the rules and rights of hostility and plunder', when every session of parliament promulgates new rules and regulations so thick and fast that he cannot keep up with them. Difficulty intensified since `nearly 300 privateers are now under conditional consignment to this one port'. Hopes Porten can think of some way to help him. Cf. f.343.
