Folio 279: Ayres de Sá e Mello to R. Walpole. States that Walpole has no right to complain of his allegedly offensive language, when this is a perfectly justifiable remonstrance against his own truculent and aggressive tone. However, the Queen is satisfied with Capt. Allen's action in suspending Lt. Lowe, and HMS Chatham is free to leave. Capt. Grey and his privateer can also leave the Algarve, as he has released the Danish prize and the tobacco which he took.
Date and place: 1779 Sept 11 Bellas.
