Folio 263: R. Walpole to Ayres de Sá e Mello. Consul Lempriere at Faro has informed him that the Governor-General of the Algarve has forbidden any vessel to go to Gibraltar, and any privateer to leave port as long as there is a ship in sight of it. Walpole thinks it is unprecedented and unjustified. Requests clarification.
