Folio 452: Viscount Weymouth to R. Walpole. He is to tell Ayres de Sá of `the King's real concern that an officer of His Fleet should have given Her Majesty fresh cause of complaint' over the seizure of the Lively by Capt. Murray R.N. Admiral Duff at Gibraltar has been ordered to investigate the incident, and return the Lively and cargo to Faro, if she was seized in territorial waters. Duff has also been ordered `to give strict charge to his cruisers that they may not infringe at any time the jurisdiction of the Portuguese state, nor interrupt their trade by blocking up the ports.'.
