Folio 353: R. Walpole to Viscount Weymouth. Encloses copies of correspondence with Ayres de Sá on H.M.'s reinstatement of Elphinston at Queen's request. Hopes that Royal Navy officers will in future obey their orders and give no further cause for complaint. Pinto deSousa will probably be given sick leave, but uncertain who will be appointed chargé d'affaires at London. The Bahia Fleet coming home in convoy, as a protection against American privateers.
Date and place: 1778 July 18 Lisbon.
