Portuguese Ministers do not think `that the Catholic King intends for the present to join with France.' Clarification of Treaty recently concluded with Spain, by which Portugal has ceded the two W. African islands of Fernando Po and Annobon. Recent treaty with France for reciprocal abolition of the Droit d'Aubaine (f.156) does not affect British interests in any way.
