Dilatory evasive, and downright insulting attitude of Pombal in the cases of the Oporto Factory, and the Portuguese brokers "that body of idle and turbulent knaves" as he describes them. Imprisonment of F. Van Nes. Documentation from Gibraltar relating to A. Van Nes enclosed (ff.77, 78). Case of Helena Clifford will be described in his next.
