Folio 261: Earl of Rochford to Carvalho e Mello. Relaying complaint of Capt. Stott, and asking him to request the Court of Lisbon to order the Viceroy of Brazil to furnish provisions to British warships, and accept payment in bills on Navy Boards, or on Consul at Lisbon, as Portuguese government prefers. Also requests some letters of introduction for Capt. Cook in the Resolution and Capt. Furneaux in the Adventure, who may call there on their voyage of discovery to the South Seas.
