Folio 47: E. Hay to H. Seymour Conway. Encloses abstract of a letter received from Consul Hardy at Cadiz (f.50). His discussion with the Count of Oeiras on this report, and the latter's observations on repeated Franco-Spanish attempts to separate Portugal from the English alliance. These would never be successful so long as he remained in power. Encloses copy (f.52) of his answer to General Irwin. Further efforts to secure intelligence from Spain.
