Folio 9: H. Seymour Conway to E. Hay. Severely reprimands him for not obtaining the speedy release of Lt. James Macnamara R.N. and for consenting to his imprisonment in a `seat of filth, disease, and infamy.' He is to peremptorily demand and obtain the immediate return of the paper which Macnamara was forced to sign under duress, and to require `a very expressive apology for the affront.'.
