Folio 255: John Bristow to Earl of Halifax. Detailed narrative of his vain efforts to obtain any satisfaction for his claims, despite Hay's energetic assistance, and the friendly assurances given him by the Court of Oeiras on his arrival. But since then nothing hasbeen done, on one futile excuse or another; and he will not be able to achieve anything unless Halifax can intervene to induce King George to support his claims.
