Folio 239: Anthony Todd to [Edward] Weston. Encloses extract from a letter from the Intendant General of the French Posts, asking the British government to use their influence in supporting the previous request for the establishment of twice weekly mails between Lisbon and Paris via Madrid. As the P.M.G. as always had such excellent cooperation with the French, he ventures to back this request, and asks that Hay be instructed accordingly. [Annexed are letters in French dated Paris 26 March (cf. f.134) and 14 November on this project].
Date and place: 1763 Nov 18 London.
