Folio 227: E. Hay to Earl of Halifax. Duke of York is staying at Da Cunha's palace at Alcántara. He wishes to avoid all ceremonial, so will meet the Portuguese royal family informally at Queluz. Hay offered his services and hopes he will be excused any shortcomingsdue to HRH's entirely unexpected and unannounced arrival.
