Folio 216: Earl of Halifax to E. Hay. King George is considerably annoyed that Portuguese ministers have procrastinated so long and so evasively over the reiterated demands made for the redress of British merchants grievances. Will wait a little longer, to see if De Mello will bring a satisfactory answer. He is to find out the date of De Mello's return, not concealing the King's dissatisfaction at being kept so long without a reply.
Date and place: 1763 Oct 7 London.
