Folio 8: E. Hay to Earl of Egremont. Will closely cooperate with Lord Loudoun, who has taken over command of the British troops from Lord Tyrawly, who is due to leave tomorrow in HMS Essex. Arrival of troops from England and Belle Isle, and how disposed of. Spaniards have evacuated all of Tras-os-Montes, and fears of the Oporto Factory `have entirely subsided' but they are very grateful for the King's solicitude in arranging for transports to be sent them. Will take up with Count of Oeiras their grievances against the Alto Douro Wine Co., when opportunity offers.
Date and place: 1762 July 25 Lisbon.
