Folio 261: E. Hay to Earl of Egremont. Encloses copies of third Franco-Spanish ultimatum and of Portuguese reply (wanting), together with the translations (ff.264-69). His comments thereon. Spanish ambassador's approach to the Queen and the letters she has sent to the King of Spain and the Queen-Mother. Spanish and French ambassadors have both left, but former will be detained near the frontier until the returning Portuguese ambassador from Madrid arrives there. Convoy and stores have begun to arrive. Encloses circular letter of Don Ricardo Wall, with translation (ff.261-6).
