His conversations with Count of Oeiras and with Dom Luis da Cunha, concerning the King of Spain's criticism of France's aggressive attitude to Portugal, the French demand for the restitution of the ships taken by Boscawen off Lagos, and the attitude of the French ambassador at Lisbon, Comte de Merle. Disgrace of the old Visconde de Ponte de Lima and the Conde de São Lourenço, and the reasons for this.
