Folio 166: W. Pitt to Earl of Kinnoull. He is to present official and effusive compliments and letter of congratulation from George II to Portuguese royal family on the marriage of the Princess of Brazil with Dom Pedro. Decision over the attitude to be taken to newdiplomatic protocol regulation at Lisbon, deferred for further consideration by George II. The British Factory's memorial (f.132) also requires much thought and deliberation before action on it can be taken. Recent defeat at Quebec expected to be soon repaired by General Amherst's operations.
