Folio 61: Earl of Kinnoull to W. Pitt. Very detailed account of interview with Count of Oeiras over hostile attitude of France as reflected in the enclosed papers (ff.73-78) of the Duc de Choiseuil's demands, and the danger that France may be inciting Spain to attack Portugal and invading the Amazon region from Cayenne. Part played by the Jesuits in all this. Portuguese Crown's reply to French protests. Encloses copies of Dom Luis da Cunha's letter to him on King's favourable reaction to his audience [ff.81-87].
