Folio 47: W. Pitt to Earl of Kinnoull. King George II has read his dispatch of 29 Mar. (ff.27, 39) with pleasure, and approves of his conduct. But `the King's orders to your excellency are positive to dispute the precedence with the French ambassador,' unless somereciprocal and mutually satisfactory solution can be adjusted through the Portuguese ministers. Hopes he can now take up the business problems.
