Folio 242: E. Hay to W. Pitt. Seizure of money in the street from Humphrey Bunster of H.M.S. Hanover, details of tedious legal wrangle which ensued and final decision confiscating the money. This has greatly alarmed the British Factory who have presented the enclosed petition (f.245) demanding redress. New French ambassador expected at the end of May. Encloses copies of papers relevant to Bunster case (ff.245-252).
