Folio 209: E. Hay to W. Pitt. Further arrests in connection with the plot and of persons `who may have been too free of speech.' Secret trial and sentencing of the conspirators, and the manner of their public execution. Courage of the elder Marchioness de Tavora. Encloses printed summary of the process and sentence which he has not had time to translate (wanting). Chief plotters were `the old Marchioness de Tavora, the Duke of Aveiro, and the Jesuits.' Their real or alleged motives. Te Deum for the King's escape and his public appearance thereat.
