Folio 56: E. Hay to W. Pitt. Death and court mourning for the Infante Dom Antonio. False report of plague at Almeida (f.50), though there was an outbreak of smallpox there. Severe sentences passed on the rioters at Oporto. Will keep Sir Henry Frankland's patent asConsul-General until he arrives from America.
