Folio 33: W. Pitt to E. Hay. King approves of what he has done since Castres' death and appoints him as his successor as Envoy Extraordinary. Sir Henry Franklin, Bart, will succeed him as Consul-General, as soon as he can arrive from Boston, New England. He is to keep Castres' official papers and ciphers.
