Folio 153: A. Castres to H. Fox. His interviews with Carvalho and with the King and Queen. Their gratitude for King George's letters of condolence and the relief voted by Parliament. Similar expressions by other members of the royal family and courtiers. Carvalho later told him how the two Portuguese envoys in England had been received by George II who had expressed his distress in the most moving terms. Neither the warship nor any of the transports with the relief have yet arrived.
