Folio 165: Charles Compton to Lord Harrington. Complaints of the English Factory over interference by the Lisbon Senate's officers of their treaty rights to sell corn as they please. Gratified by news that he is to succeed Mr Keene as Paymaster of the Pensions at London, and Keene will replace him at Lisbon. Has informed the Portuguese Court accordingly.
Date and place: 1745 Sept 21 Lisbon.
