Folio 32: Charles Compton to Duke of Newcastle. Congratulations on the loyal reaction of Parliament to the news of the Young Pretender's being received in France and preparing an expedition at Dunkirk. Deserters from H.M.S. Torrington, and difficulty of securing their return unless a promise is given that they will not be punished (ff.34). Forwards a loyal address from the Factory denouncing the machinations of the "Popish Pretender" (f.36).
